We are delighted that the long awaited Get Going…Get Rowing programme in Limerick has got underway today. Community coach Jess O’Keeffe launched the programme with 48 students from Gael Colaiste Luimni in Athlunkard Boat Club, together with Limerick Sports partnership and the TrY Rowing Students who completed their full day initiative at UL last October.

The initiative will kick off in all Limerick City and County schools this week with St. Marys, Crescent Comprehensive, Pallaskenry and Laurel Hill all starting this week together with St. John Baptist in Hospital Community coaches Ger Hayes and Sheila Clavin will run the programme with Jessica O’Keefe in these schools, giving students the opportunity to try a sport that they may never have tried before.

We are certainly excited with this new programme in a city renowned for Sport. With six rowing clubs in Limerick there will be plenty of opportunities for these students to try the sport for the first time.
