Rowing Irelands, Get Going…Get Rowing programme together with Dublin City Council, Sport Ireland and Waterways Ireland are pleased to announce their second annual #Blitzit Splash and Dash in the heart of Dublin city on Friday 20th April from 10am – 2pm.

Background

Get Going…Get Rowing programme started as a pilot scheme in Dublin City in March 2014. The programme is now in 14 centres across Ireland led by 17 community coaches. Get Going…Get Rowing has partnered World Rowing and Youth Sports International to deliver the Olympic Values Education programme as part of its six week curriculum in schools and during its Olympic Values rowing camps over the holiday periods.

The on-the-water Blitz is a “Girls only event” to celebrate Women in Sport in Dublin City and around the country. The event will also create a sport and pathway to Rowing Ireland clubs around the country. In 2017 25,000 women participated in the Get Going…Get Rowing programme.
