Get Going Get Rowing and Rowing Ireland are asking every student in every School in Ireland to get behind the Rowing Ireland Olympic team and help them row to Tokyo, #Rowkyo. We are challenging every school in Ireland with a rowing machine to join our team by rowing a combined distance of 23 million metres, the distance from the National Rowing centre in Cork to Sea Forest Waterway in Tokyo Bay, by sea in 90 days from the 23rd April to the 23rd of July when the Olympics kick off.

Students will have the opportunity to take part in an exciting and fun challenge that helps support Rowing Ireland’s Olympic Athletes. As a participating school of the Get Going…Get Rowing programme; you will be automatically signed up to take part in this challenge.
This is a valuable opportunity to engage students in the athletes’ preparation for the 2021 Summer Olympic games and gain valuable learning about the geography along the way. Rowing Ireland aims to get students active by supporting the Irish Team going to Tokyo.

What does your school get if you sign up?

Your school will become fit and active and will have a chance to do something different as part of Active Schools Week.
You get to support the fantastic Olympic Rowing Team who will be watching your progress and in turn supporting you along the way.
Watch the map on the Rowing Ireland and Get Going Get Rowing website as everyone makes the journey from our National Rowing Centre in Cork to Sea Forest Waterway in Tokyo Bay.
You can enter the total distance rowed by your students on the Get Going
Get Rowing website
(https://www.getgoinggetrowing.com)
and this will show you the progress that has been made by all participants.
Posters to promote it in your school.
