More than 250 students took to the water at Grand Canal Dock in Dublin this month for our annual on the water blitz for schools.

Every year Get Going Get Rowing organises a fun, social event for Dublin schools that have been learning to row with us. A chance for students to put the skills they have learned into practice and get a taste of rowing racing, the all-day sprint regatta culminates in medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.

Participating schools included St Aidan’s Community School, Colaiste Bride, Christian Brothers College Monkstown, Palmerstown Community School, St Tiernan’s, Confey College, Wesley College, Drimnagh Castle, Collinstown Park Community College, Ardgillan Community College, Holy Faith Clontarf, and Presentation Community College Terenure.

This year we also had staff from South Dublin County Sports Partnership and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership who battled out against each other in some fierce racing.

Photographs of the day can be found on the Rowing Ireland Facebook page in this album: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.690830393047189&type=3

The event takes place at Charlotte’s Quay, Grand Canal Dock and is supported by Waterways Ireland and funded by Dublin City Council.

Many thanks to Leinster Coordinator Aoife Byrne for organising a great day for all these students and staff!
